SM5304AV 1-channel Video Buffer with Variable Lowpass Filter Built-in released to production.

Expanding on NPC SM5300 and SM5301 video buffer products, the SM5304 offers a low cost single channel version with 0/6/12 12 db switchable gain, 2 to 10MHz cutoff frequeny, low pass filter and Sag compensation circuits built-in.SM5304AV

The devices meet a wide range of high-resolution and high image quality requirements for video projection and display or legacy and HD formats.

The SM5304AV is a 1-channel analog lowpass filter IC with buffer amplifier built-in for widely popular composite-terminal video signal input/outputs. It has an 8th-order lowpass filter built-in for increased aliasing noise elimination, and has been designed with the principle aims of suppressing image flicker and image quality degradation.  The SM5304AV can find use in a wide range of applications from DVD car navigation systems and portable DVD players, where high image quality and surface mounting area and height are limited, to PDP and D-TV large-scale consumer electronics products.

Multi-channel DSD to PCM Converter LSI for 6-channel Super Audio CD Playback Development

Nippon Precision Circuits Inc. announces the development of SM5819AF, multi-channel DSD (Direct Stream Digital) to PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) converter LSI for 6-channel Super Audio CD playback.*1

DSD is the Super Audio CD signal format of a 1-bit signal stream of 64-times CD sampling rate. By using NPC's dedicated signal processing technology, the SM5819AF performs a real time conversion from a 6-channel DSD signal to a 6-channel PCM signal of 4-times, 2-times or 1-times CD sampling rate in one chip.

The conversion characteristics of the SM5819AF are decided by its internal down-sampling filter coefficients. Also, the SM5819AF  has three filter characteristics according to the PCM output (4fs, 2fs and 1fs). Furthermore, it has 6-channel external PCM input. By using these functions, user can realize a wide range of system configurations, making it easy to constitute a multi-channel DSD and PCM reproduction system.

The SM5819AF  is suitable for multi-channel Super Audio CD playback system such as multi-channel Super Audio CD player, Super Audio CD-compatible AV amplifier and Super Audio CD-compatible DVD player.

Industry's First Multi-channel DSD to PCM Converter LSI for 6-channel SACD Playback

Nippon Precision Circuits Inc. (NPC) announces the development of SM5816AF*, the industry's first multi-channel DSD (Direct Stream Digital) to PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) converter LSI for 6-channel SACD (Super Audio CD) playback, and starts its sample shipping.

DSD is the SACD signal format of a 1-bit signal stream of 64-times CD sampling-rate. By using NPC's dedicated signal processing technology, the SM5816AF performs a real-time conversion from a 6-channel DSD signal to a 6-channel PCM signal of 2-times or 8-times CD sampling-rate in one chip.

The conversion characteristics of the SM5816AF are decided by its internal decimation (down-sampling) filter coefficients. User can select the coefficients either from pre-installed coefficients or from optional coefficients that are written to the built-in SRAM by serial interface. By using the optional coefficients, the arbitrary filter characteristics are realizable.

Also, the SM5816AF has another optional functions like DSD direct-through function, DSD/PCM output independent muting and master/slave clock mode operation. By using these functions, user can realize a wide range of system configurations, making it easy to constitute a multi-channel DSD and PCM reproduction system.

The SM5816AF is suitable for multi-channel SACD playback system such as multi-channel SACD player, SACD- compatible AV amplifier and SACD- compatible DVD player.

Low Voltage, Low Current Consumption
Stereo Headphone Amplifier IC with Built-in Electronic Volume

The SM6453AB is a Stereo Headphone Amplifier IC with 3-wire Serial Data Controlled Volume suitable for portable audio equipments.SM6453AB

The SM6453AB assembles the input signal switching, volume adjustment, bass boost function and headphone amplifier in one-chip, and enables to make the sound output circuit simplified. This IC controls the volume and each mode setting with 3-wire serial data. The SM6453AB features the Pop-noise control circuit that reduces the pop-noise caused by throwing the power supply or releasing the mute function.

The SM6453AB realizes the long-lived battery and miniaturization which are important to all the portable electronic equipments, by low voltage(1.8V min.), low current consumption(2.3mA at 2.4V supply voltage) and employing ultra-small 32-pin QFN package.

PC's NEW Asynchronous Sample Rate Converter SM5950AM

Nippon Precision Circuits Inc. (NPC) announces the SM5950AM, a low supply voltage(3.3V) asynchronous sample rate converter capable of converting signals sampled at 24bit/96kHz, and its sample shipping.  The SM5950AM is designed to output signals of various sample rates, since a wide range of sample rates are often employed in Digital Audio applications. SM5950AM can adjust for small differences in the sample rate that arise solely from using different system clocks by using asynchronous inputs and outputs. Moreover, this design also insures that the jitter of the input clock is not passed on to the output signal. Furthermore, the asynchronous system can be easily built with this SM5950AM, as input system clock is not needed to be supplied.

The SM5950AM supports 16/20/24-bit word length input/output data, an input sample rate range of 20kHz to 100kHz, and an output sample rate range of 30Hz to 50kHz.
